Description
Love is Here to Stay is a song by George Gershwin with words by Ira Gershwin, written for the 1938 film The Goldwyn Follies. It was the last piece of music written by Gershwin before his death in 1937; his brother Ira wrote the lyrics as a tribute to George. It has since gone on to become a jazz standard, covered by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett with Diana Krall, among others.
This jazz-inspired arrangement for advanced SATB ensemble features a classic walking bass part and solos for all the instruments. A contrabass recorder in F can be used as an alternative to the standard bass, or the arrangement can also be performed an octave lower, by using Tenor, Bass, Great Bass and Contrabass recorders.
