Description

This arrangement for recorders and piano of the Piano Sonata for four hands, K. 381 (123a) by WA Mozart (1756-1791) was originally made by the German recorder player, harpsichordist, editor and composer Walter Bergmann (1902-1988) in the early 1980s. It was to be Bergmann’s last work before he died, but until now has never been published.

The manuscript of Bergmann’s arrangement came to light in 2017 and a first performance of the work was given in 2018, at a special concert and event at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire marking thirty years since his death.

We are delighted to be able to finally bring this lovely arrangement of Mozart’s work to the attention of recorder players. A proportion of every sale made of this work is donated to the Walter Bergmann Fund, which gives financial support to young recorder players.
