Description
Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder was released on the album Songs in the Key of Life in 1976. It was written in tribute to influential musical figures in Wonder’s life, especially the jazz band leader Duke Ellington, but also referencing Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller and Ella Fitzgerald. The song is a feel-good testament to the power of music and the lasting legacy of some of the great jazz personalities of the twentieth century.
