Description
I Danced with a Mosquito is one of the highly evocative orchestral Eight Russian Folksongs written by the Russian composer Anatoly Liadov in 1906. Liadov’s humorous score for this short, pastoral song sets a tuneful bird-like melody for flutes and piccolo against buzzing, capricious strings.
This arrangement was made for the Fontanella Recorder Quintet in 2019 and first performed for the Worcester Early Music Festival that year.
