Description
Frosty the Snowman is a seasonal song by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins, first sung in 1950 by Gene Autry and the Cass Country Boys. It was later covered by many other artists including Nat King Cole, The Ronettes, The Jackson Five and the Cocteau Twins. With his ‘button nose’ and ‘eyes made out of coal’, the song tells of a snowman who comes to life one day with the help of some children. In 1969 Frosty the Snowman became the focus of a popular Children’s TV Christmas special in America, which remains a family favourite to this day.
